Covid: Railways cancels 12 weekend trains running on Saturdays and Sundays

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Railways has reduced the number of trains running in Kerala following the tightening of Covid restrictions in the state. The railways cancelled 12 trains-four from Thiruvananthapuram division and eight from Palakkad division. All cancelled trains are the ones running on Saturdays and Sundays. The state government has said it will not impose weekend restrictions, but the Railways has decided to reduce train services these days.

The action of the Railways is in the name of Covid safety.

Thiruvananthapuram Division: Nagercoil-Kottayam Express (no.16366), Kottayam-Kollam Unreserved Express (no.06431), Kollam-Thiruvananthapuram Unreserved Express (no.06425), Thiruvananthapuram - Nagercoil Unreserved Express (no.06435)

Palakkad Division: Shornur-Kannur Unreserved Express (no.06023), Kannur-Shornur Unreserved Express (no.06024), Kannur-Mangalore Unreserved Express (no.06477), Mangalore-Kannur Unserved Express (no. 06478), Kozhikode-Kannur Unreserved Express (no.06481), Kannur-Charvathoor Unreserved Express (no.06469), Charvathoor-Mangalore Unreserved Express (no.06491), Mangalore-Kozhikode Express (no.16610)
