No arrest till Wednesday; Dileep's anticipatory bail plea deferred again

KOCHI: The anticipatory bail pleas of the accused including Dileep in the case of conspiracy to finish off the investigating officers in the case of attacking the actress, has been deferred to Wednesday (February 3). The high court said that he should not be arrested till then. The court postponed considering the anticipatory bail pleas at the request of the prosecution.

Apart from Dileep, the anticipatory bail pleas of his brother Anoop (P Sivakumar), brother-in-law T N Suraj, relative Appu and friend Baiju Chengamanad have also been postponed. The crime branch registered a case against them based on the statement of director Balachandra Kumar.

The crime branch had recorded the statement of director Kumar asserting that the actor had made death threats against the investigating officers. Kumar's revelation was when the trial in the case of attacking the actress was going on.

Kumar, an eyewitness to Dileep and his aides conspiring to endanger the investigating officers, had produced the audio clips he recorded to the crime branch.

The investigation team had questioned Dileep and his aides for three days. Despite questioning them for 33 hours, the probe team had not received complete information from the accused. The inquiry team will submit its interrogation report to the high court today.
