Seven students of same school in Kasargod were sexually abused, revelation during counselling

KASARGOD: Seven students of the same school complained of sexual harassment. An investigation has started after registering seven POCSO cases in two police stations. The incident happened at Kasargod Bekal police station.

Seven students of the same school were sexually abused under different circumstances years ago. During a POCSO awareness class for school children, the officer who took the class asked them whether anyone had been subjected to sexual harassment and assured them to take legal action if they say it openly.

Following that, the girls made the revelation. A police complaint was lodged with the intervention of the child line. The girls of fifth and sixth classes were sexually abused by their neighbours and distant relatives.

Investigators said they would conduct a detailed investigation into the incident, which happened four years ago. The investigation has been intensified against four people in the case. The case was registered at Bekal and Ambalathara stations.
