These super stars replace Prithviraj and Kunchacko Boban, Neelavelicham starts rolling with major changes

Ashiq Abu’s Neelavelicham, has been awaited by fans with hope since its announcement. The shooting of the film has started rolling at Pinarayi in Thalassery.

Kunchacko Boban, Prithviraj and Soubin Shahir were first roped in the film which is an adaptation of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer’s Bhargavi Nilayam. However, the cast of the film later underwent major changes.

They opted out of the film due to date clashes. Tovino Thomas, Roshan Mathew, and Shine Tom Chacko will replace them now. Other casts include Rima Kallingal, Rajesh Madhavan, Uma K P, Pooja Mohanraj, Devaki Bhagi etc.

Minister M V Govindan Master, K K Shailaja MLA and CPM Kannur district secretary M V Jayarajan attended the switch on function of the film produced under the banner of OPM Cinemas. Vaikom Muhammad Basheer’s short story Neelavelicham was adapted on screen in 1964. A Vincent directed the film Bhargavi Nilayam. The film had Prem Nazir, Madhu, Vijaya Nirmala, Adoor Bhasi, Kuthiravattom Pappu.

Girish Gangadharan is the cinematographer of the film. The music is composed jointly by Bijibal and Rex Vijayan. Saiju Sreedharan is the editor of the film.
