‘I’ve saved 40 girls from trap of love jihad,’ says P C George, Christian Association and Hindu Aikya Vedi block AIYF activists from protesting

KOTTAYAM: The AIYF waved black flags at senior leader P C George when he came to attend the reception hosted by Christian Association and Alliance for Social Action (CASA). A tense situation prevailed when the Christian Association and the BJP activists tried to defend him. The incident happened last evening at 5 pm.

When George's vehicle entered Shastri Road, a group of AIYF activists waved black flags at him. When the police stopped them, another group came to the gate in front of the hall, waved black flags and stopped the vehicle. The police removed them from there. With this, the activists of Casa and Hindu Aikya Vedi organized and protested against the AIYF. Police intervened and avoided further trouble. Meanwhile, the gate to the hall was closed. Casa and Hindu Aikya Vedi activists clashed with the police over the issue. The conflict was averted with the intervention of senior leaders.

In the meeting held later, P C George reiterated that there is love jihad in the country. He said that he had rescued 40 girls from the trap of love jihad. He said that this is his experience. He said two of the 17 people sentenced to death in the country were his neighbours. Hindu Aikya Vedi state general secretary R V Babu, BJP state spokesperson N K Narayanan Namboothiri, Pastor Anil Kodithottam, advocate P P Joseph, Casado, Kevin Peter, Fr Luke Puthrika and others spoke.
