Pressure paid off, special investigation team to probe Malayalee basketball player’s suicide

PATNA: A special investigation team has been formed by the Bihar police to probe into the suicide of Malayalee basketball player K C Lithara. The case will be investigated by a special investigation team led by Patna sub-divisional police officer Sanjay Kumar. The investigation will be monitored by Patna senior superintendent of police M S Dhillon.

Lithara, daughter of Karunan of Vadakara Vattoli, was found hanging in her flat in Patna, on April 26. Her relatives had alleged that Lithara, a star player of the railways, was raped by her coach Ravi Singh. The Bihar police had registered a case for abetment to suicide against Ravi Singh, on the complaint lodged by Lithara’s relatives.
