MUMBAI: There is only one answer to the question of which is the best T20 league in the world - the Indian Premier League or the IPL. If one asks who's the best T20 batsman in the world, there's probably only one answer - Chris Gayle. What sets Gayle apart is that there are still not many players in international cricket who can win any match on their own, capable of crossing the line with any ball. But the fact that Chris Gayle was not interested to play in the 2022 IPL came as a surprise to all cricket lovers around the world.

Gayle opted out without even registering his name for the IPL draft. The West Indies player has finally decided to open up about this matter. Gayle said he decided not to participate in the auction this time because he was frustrated by the humiliation he has faced from the IPL and some teams over the past few seasons.

Gayle said when he spoke to IPL officials and some team representatives, he did not get the kind of response he wanted and felt that they did not need him. Gayle said that if the IPL itself does not want him, then he has decided that he does not want the IPL and that is why he decided not to register his name in the star auction.

But when asked if he would ever return to the IPL, Gayle said that possibility could not be ruled out. Gayle has said that he will return to the IPL next year and that he wants to win the IPL title with any team he has played with before. Gayle has previously played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab in the IPL.
