CM in Thaliparamba; KSU activist lifts atop black bag, CPM hands him over to police

KANNUR: CPM activists directly attacked KSU activist who protested against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The KSU activists came protesting when the Chief Minister was going to Taliparamba from Kannur Guest House.

A KSU activist lifted atop a black bag when the chief minister was passing by. The CPM activists who were nearby handed him over to the police. They handed him over after thrashing him. The police took him into custody.


Police had information that there would be protests on the way the chief minister passes. They knew that many including the Yuva Morcha activists are likely to protest. However, the chief minister reached Taliparamba without any untoward incidents.

Police security was beefed up in Kannur in connection with the chief minister’s visit. More than 700 policemen were deployed for the security of the chief minister after taking into account the protests to be staged. Traffic restrictions were also imposed in the district.


The first function of the chief minister was at 10.30 am at the Taliparamba Kila Campus. Police said black masks and clothing were not allowed here. The Chief Minister did not stay at his house in Pinarayi for security reasons but stayed at the Kannur guest house yesterday.
