1.5 kg of gold seized at Nedumbassery Airport

KOCHI: The customs seized around 1.5 kilograms of gold at Nedumbassery Airport. A passenger who arrived from the Gulf has been taken into custody. More details have not been divulged.
The police had last week seized about 1.5 kilograms of gold smuggled through Nedumbassery airport. Police arrested Sabeel, 44, of Azhikode Chemmath Parampil, who smuggled gold from Dubai to Nedumbassery and Nishaj (27) of Vallumbaram Thondiyil in Malappuram. Sabeel smuggled the gold by hiding it in his anus and smearing the gold granules on his clothes with glue.
