Youth called out of his house and thrashed, car set on fire; police suspect involvement of gold smuggling gang

KOZHIKODE: A youth was called out of his house, thrashed and his car was set on fire. The incident took place in Kalleri, Vadakara, last night. The victim has been identified as Koodathil Biju. He was beaten up by a gang who had arrived in a van. A Swift car, owned by Biju, was set ablaze by the gang.

Earlier, Biju was alleged of hiding Arjun Ayanki, an accused in the Karipur gold smuggling case. Hence, the police are suspicious about whether the gold smuggling gang or any other smuggling gangs are behind the attack. However, Biju said that the attack was in revenge of a dispute at a marriage house.
