Father, son drown during swimming classes in Kannur

KANNUR: A bank secretary and his son drowned in a pond during swimming classes. The dead has been identified as P P Shaji (50) of Panniyod and now residing in Chelora and bank secretary of Eachur service cooperative bank and his son Jyothiraditya (15). Shaji drowned while he was trying to save his son from drowning.
The accident happened when Shaji was teaching his son swimming in the pond. The bodies were fished out jointly by the fire force and the locals.
After completing the inquest proceedings by a team led by Chakkrakkal circle inspector N K Sathyanathan, the bodies have been shifted to Kannur Government Hospital for post-mortem.
