Life Mission case: Swapna Suresh to be questioned again on July 21, CBI interrogated for six and a half hours on Monday

KOCHI:The CBI interrogated Swapna Suresh, accused in the gold smuggling case, for six and a half hours in the case of violation of law and corruption in receiving foreign aid for the construction of Life Mission flats in Vadakancherry. She is again called for questioning on July 21. Sandeep Nair, the other accused in the case, will be questioned on July 19.

Swapna who reached the CBI office in Kochi at 11 am on Monday, was interrogated till 5.30 pm by a team led by Inspector S.S. Chauhan. The case registered by CBI alleges that the assistance received for the LIFE Mission scheme violated the provisions of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act and that there was corruption in giving donation as commission.

Swapna Suresh told the media after questioning that the decision to give the Vadakanchery flat construction contract to Santosh Eapen was taken in a meeting held at Cliff House. She said that she also attended the meeting along with Chief Minister, UAE Consul General and M Sivashankar.
