Petrol price becomes cheaper by Rs 5 per litre and diesel by Rs 3, Shinde’s big move

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Government on Thursday announced that the state has decided to slash the Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol prices by Rs 5 per litre and diesel by Rs 3 per litre. With this, petrol will cost Rs 106 per liter and diesel Rs 94 per litre from tomorrow.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had announced to slash VAT on fuel prices. Shinde after a cabinet meeting said the decision would entail a burden of Rs 6000 crore on the state exchequer.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said this decision of the Shiv Sena-BJP government is for the welfare of the people.
