Constant companion: A rare friendship between Hakkim and his baby goat Ali

KOLLAM: Ali is with Hakkim wherever he goes from work to relative's house and even sometimes eats from same plate. You might be wondering who Hakkim's constant companion is, it is Hakkim's baby goat.

The friendship between 59-year old Kollam native Hakkim and his six-month old baby goat is an interesting sight. Ali got Hakkim from his sister's house. Ali slept with the baby goat to relieve its isolation of moving to a new house and slowly it became a strong bond.

Tea and snacks are a musk in Ali's food menu and sometimes eats dosa. Hakkim's breakfast is often fermnted rice gruel. Although Ali eats grass and jackfruit leaves, rice is mandatory in the afternoon, his favorite is fish curry and beef. Ali is also close with Hakkim's wife Sulbath. Hakkim's family consists of a daughter and two sons. All of them are married.

Ali is not tied down. Even if Hakkim goes to a distant relative's house, Ali will stay with him. Ali's birthday is on February 10. "Ali is my son. We cannot be separated. Recently a person offered price for him. Even if I die, I will not give him to anyone.", said Hakkim.
