Caused inconvenience and resentment to minister during escort duty; two police officers suspended

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two police officers, who were on escort duty, have been suspended for causing disturbance to Minister P Rajeev during his journey. The suspended officials are Grade SI SS Saburajan and CPO Sunil. They had escorted the minister from Pallichal to Vetturoad while he was on his way from Neyyattinkara to Ernakulam.

The officers had changed the route of the minister's vehicle on the way. Both of them were suspended on the grounds that they had caused inconvenience and resentment to the minister. The minister had called the Thiruvananthapuram Commissioner directly and complained about the two officers. Meanwhile, the suspended officials said that they changed the route of the minister's vehicle to avoid the traffic block on the road.
