KALPETTA: A complaint has been filed for insulting the national flag in Kaniyambetta, Wayanad. The national flag is hoisted below the party symbol on the flagpole of the Muslim League. According to the complaint filed by the CPM branch committee, the Kambalakkad police registered case against four people in the incident. The incident took place at Millumukku in Kaniyambetta.

There was also a controversy when the national flag was tied below the CPM flag in Palakkad the other day. The national flag was hoisted below the CPM flag at K Jayarajan's house in Anna Nagar on the Tamil Nadu border. The CPM had given an explanation that Jayarajan's children hoisted the flag in this way and corrected it as soon as they realized the mistake. But the photo and video of this surfaced on social media. Similar incident was reported in Wayanad following this.
