Relief for farmers, Central government announces interest subvention on agriculture loans

NEW DELHI: The central government has announced interest relief for agricultural loans. The Union Cabinet meeting announced the interest rate subvention targetting the growth of the agricultural sector. Union Minister Anurag Thakur stated that short-term agricultural loans up to Rs 3 lakh will have interest subvention of 1.5% per annum.
The Cabinet meeting also decided to raise the limit of the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme for the revival of the tourism sector. The minister said that Rs 50,000 crore has been sanctioned for this purpose.
