Plus Two student in Thrissur victim of brutal abuse, her father facilitated interaction with accused; shocking details surface

THRISSUR: Another one of the three accused in the gang rape of a plus two student has been taken into police custody. His arrest will be recorded soon. The third accused may also be arrested soon. The girl has given a statement that the accused had sent her mother and her relative to get bail for her father who was involved in a vehicle-related case, and abused her at house in Punnayoorkulam.

When the girl resisted, her hands were tied. There were injuries on the body. The girl's teachers also say that she showed discomfort. Last May, she was abused at the tuition center when no one was around. It is also stated in the statement that other students saw the accused coming out from the tuition centre.

The girl told this to her mother but she didn't take it seriously. It is reported that the father himself facilitated the accused to interact with the girl. Last day, the first accused Shafi (26), a native of Kapirikad, was arrested.

A teacher, who sought the reason for the student's absence, opened the way to reveal the shocking information about the harassment. The girl was frequently absent this month. When the teacher inquired this on the phone, she got suspicious of the child's answer and called her to school and suggested counselling. Vadakkekadu police registered a case after a complaint was filed with the Childline.
