Cannot single-handedly hang body in duct; suspects involvement of more people in Kochi flat murder case

KOCHI: The police suspect that more people are involved in the case of murdering a youth and hiding it in a flat. The dead body of Sajeev was found hanging in the duct of the flat. The City Police Commissioner explained that a person cannot do this alone and suspects that the accused Arshad had someone else's help. The slain Sajeev and the accused Arshad were drug addicts. There was also a dispute between the two related to financial dealings in drugs. The Commissioner also stated that this is the reason for the murder. There was no CCTV in the flat where the murder took place. So other means are needed to find out if someone else has come to the flat.

Arshad and Ashwant are likely to be produced in the Kasaragod court today in the case of possessing drugs. Then with the permission of the court, Arshad will be brought to Kochi for further investigation in the murder case. A police team from Kochi has reached Kasargod. The involvement of other people can be confirmed only after evidence collection and questioning. The accused had stated that the reason for committing the crime was a dispute on financial dealings in drugs. The police hope to get more details after detailed interrogation of the accused in Kochi.
