KOCHI: The High Court has clarified that the case filed against the Congress leaders on the complaint of actor Joju George cannot be quashed. The High Court said that the charges of obstructing public transport will stand against the leaders. Meanwhile, the court has quashed the charges of causing bodily harm and verbal assault.

On November 1, 2021, Joju George had strongly reacted against the Congress leaders who were staging a strike against the increase in fuel prices by blocking the roads. The actor reacted after he was caught up in the road blockade organized by the Congress on Edappally-Vyttila-Aroor Bypass. Joju had recently filed an affidavit in the High Court stating that he had no objection to the cancellation of the case. However, the High Court has clarified that even if the complainant withdraws the complaint, the crime against the public cannot be quashed.

Joju's reaction against the protesters had led to an altercation between the actor and the Congress workers. The protesters broke the window of Joju's vehicle amidst this.
