Gangs from Bangladesh targeting Dalit, tribal girls in Jharkhand, says BJP MP
RANCHI: A day after the brutal killing of a minor girl in Dumka, Jharkhand, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey said gangs are coming from Bangladesh to target tribal and Dalit girls in the state. Dubey also accused the Hemant Soren-led government of being inactive in the face of increasing crimes against women in the state.
'Grooming gangs' in which underage Dalit and tribal girls are exploited by Bangladeshi Muslim boys are active in Jharkhand. Meanwhile, the Soren government is fast asleep,' Dubey tweeted. A 14-year-old tribal girl was found hanging from a tree in Dumka on Friday morning. Arman Ansari, a youth, was arrested in the case. Reports suggest that the girl, who lived with her aunt in Dumka, fell in love with Ansari but he killed her when she asked him to marry her. Relatives also indicated that the girl was pregnant. The BJP MP demanded an inquiry into this too.
