Rain with thunder, lightning predicted in state today, yellow alert in six districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rain with thunder and lightning is predicted at isolated places on Monday. Central and North districts may receive more rain. Yellow alert has been sounded in six districts namely Idukki, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.

The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of rain at isolated places in all the districts of Kerala in the next three hours. Hilly areas which received heavy rains in the past few days has been asked to be on alert. The reason for the continued rains is the strong depression over the Bay of Bengal.

Fishermen should not venture into the sea. Officials have warned of the possibility of severe weather and strong winds of 45 to 55 km per hour in the central-eastern Arabian Sea off the Kerala coast.
