Three-and-half-year-old girl sexually abused in school bus; two people including woman arrested

BHOPAL: Two persons, including a woman, were arrested in connection with the incident in which a three-and-a-half-year-old girl was sexually abused in a school bus. The bus driver and a woman attendant, who was inside the bus at the time of the incident, were arrested.

The incident happened in Bhopal. When the child returned home, her mother found someone had changed the child's clothes with the spare set kept in her bag. The girl also complained of pain in her private parts. Her parents then took her into confidence and counselled her, following which she informed them that the bus driver abused her and also changed her clothes.

The girl recognized the driver when the parents took her to school the next day to complain to the school authorities. The family then lodged a complaint with the police.

The police said further investigation is underway into the incident. A case has been registered against the accused under provisions of the POCSO Act.
