Dalit man thrashed in front of daughter: Four KSRTC employees including Kattakkada station master suspended, police register case

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC has suspended four employees who beat up a Dalit man in front of his daughter following a dispute over concession at the Kattakkada KSRTC depot. The action was taken following the report of KSRTC vigilance.

The suspended employees are Kattakkada Station Master Muhammad Shereef, Duty Guard SR Suresh, Conductor N Anilkumar, and Assistant CP Milan Dorich. The police informed that a case has been registered against the KSRTC employees involved in the incident and strict action will be taken. Kattakkada Amachal native Premanan (53), who got injured in the beating, is undergoing treatment at the hospital. The police reached the hospital and recorded Premanan's statement.

Meantime, Transport Minister Antony Raju responded that a government office is not a place to show their bodily strength. The minister has sought a report from the MD on the incident.
