SIVAGIRI: Goa Governor Adv PS Sreedharan Pillai on Wednesday reminded that efforts should be made to include the spiritual vision of Sree Narayana Gurudeva in the curriculum. He said that we have a duty to impart the spirituality of the Guru to the new generation and the saints of Sivagiri Mutt should take the initiative in this regard. He was inaugurating the conference and fast yajna held at Sivagiri on the occasion of the 95th Mahasamadhi.

"Guru's spiritual vision can guide humanity. Gurudeva should not be limited to a certain framework. The vision of the Guru is to unite the world. Guru's vision is a priceless treasure that can sustain humanity. Rabindranath Tagore said that the Guru was the greatest of all the spiritually experienced great souls he had met during his world travels. Rabindranath Tagore and Swami Vivekananda were known to the world in the late 19th century even before Gandhiji became famous. Both of them had referred to Gurudeva and Chattambi Swami as great men," Sreedharan Pillai said.

"When I was the governor of Mizoram, I had attended a meeting called by the President and the Prime Minister in connection with the education reforms. During the meeting, I suggested that the Guru's vision should be made a subject. I was also fortunate that I was able to release the Mizoram version of Guru's 'Daiva Daśakaṁ'at an official function at Raj Bhavan. Daiva Daśakaṁ is a very relevant prayer. The interpretations of the three and five shlokas of the Daiva Daśakaṁ alone are sufficient to deal with the present cosmic problems. Out of the 60 works composed by Gurudeva, one book is dedicated to Chattambi Swamy. This reveals the greatness of the Guru's mind. Most of Gurudev's works are poems. They are poems with essence of spirituality. Only sages can be good poets. Had all his works been translated into world languages, perhaps Gurudeva's glory as a world poet would have risen," he added.
