Police to test whether Sreenath Bhasi used drugs during controversial interview, samples collected

KOCHI: The police will check whether actor Sreenath Bhasi used drugs in connection with the case of verbal insult against an anchor of a YouTube channel. For this, samples of actor's fingernails, hair and blood samples were collected. The test is to find out if the actor was intoxicated at the time of the interview.

But there was no complaint from the anchor that Sreenath had used drugs at the time of the interview. According to the complaint, the actor misbehaved, threatened and abused during the interview which was done as part of the promotion of the film 'Chattambi'.

In the incident, Sreenath was arrested by the police after summoning him for questioning. The arrest was made after three and a half hours of interrogation. Bhasi was arrested under three sections of IPC-509 (intending to insult the modesty of any woman), 354 and 294B. Later the actor was released on bail by the station. The police have also collected the footage of the interview that took place at a hotel in Kochi.
