Sexual assault on actors at mall in Kozhikode; accused yet to be identified, police grope in the dark

KOZHIKODE: The police are continuing to grope in the dark in connection with the incident in which two actresses were sexually assaulted in public during a promotional event in Kozhikode. Despite thoroughly examining the CCTV footage obtained from the mall, the police haven't received any strong evidence to arrest the accused till now. The police team is meeting the next day to speed up further investigation with the help of cyber experts.

The police had recorded the statements of the actresses who attended the promotional event for the film at the mall in Kozhikode last Wednesday. Based on this, the police registered a case by imposing non-bailable sections against two identifiable persons. However, the lack of clear footage of the incident has become a headache for the investigating officers. Although the probe team had questioned one youth in connection with the incident, they did not arrest him as he could not be directly linked to the attack.
