Uttarakhand: Bus overturns, falls into gorge; nearly 50 persons injured

DEHRADUN: Nearly 50 persons sustained injuries after a bus overturned and fell into a gorge in Uttarakhand. The incident took place this evening on Rikhnikhal-Birokhal road in Simdi village of Pauri Garhwal district. According to sources, there were nearly 50 passengers on the bus at the time of the accident.

Police have launched a rescue operation to rescue the people trapped in the bus. Six people have been rescued so far, the police said. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami informed that the rescue operation is going on with the cooperation of local residents.
