Former vice chancellor of Kerala University J V Vilanilam dies

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former vice chancellor of Kerala University Dr J V Vilanilam (87) passed away due to old age ailments. The funeral will be held after his son arrives from America.
Vilanilam worked as VC during 1992-96. It was Vilanilam who started the credit and semester system in universities. The SFI had launched a protest alleging that his educational qualification was fake. The government then appointed a commission to investigate. The commission found the allegation as false.
