Thief with face covered prays before deity, leaves with Thiruvabharanam

ALAPPUZHA: There was a theft at Puthenangadi Sreekumara Vilasam Temple in Aroor. The Thiruvabharanam, kireedom and the swarnakoodu of the temple were stolen. The CCTV visuals of the thief with his face covered praying before the deity before the theft have surfaced.

The incident happened Friday morning at 1 am. The thief with the face covered entered the sanctum sanctorum after breaking it. The theft was noticed after the office bearers of the temple came in the morning.

The authorities informed that the thief decamped with the Thiruvabharanam of ten sovereigns. The thief has not been identified. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
