‘Governor’s stance is causing difficulty to me and the university, will not appear for hearing’, says Kannur VC
KANNUR: Kannur university Vice chancellor Gopinath Ravindran has said that his reply to the Governor was exactly what he had informed the court. He also said that he would not appear directly before the Governor for the next hearing. He said that his lawyer will be present if required. Gopinath Ravindran informed that the Governor’s stance has caused difficulty for him and the university.
At the same time, ten vice chancellors have given explanations to the Governor's show-cause notice asking them to state reasons for not removing them. The Governor's decision is to proceed to the next step after conducting a hearing with all the ten VCs. Meanwhile, Dr Gopinath Ravindran has informed that he will not attend the hearing.
Except for Dr. Rajashree, who was the Vice chancellor of the Technical university who was expelled according to the Supreme Court's verdict, everyone else gave an explanation to the Governor. Dr Ciza Thomas, who took charge as KTU VC, also had a meeting with the Governor.
