Governor acting as an agent of Centre to overthrow the govt, why 11 VCs are asked to resign based on a case verdict?: Kanam Rajendran
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran has criticised that Governor Arif Muhammad Khan is acting as an agent of the central government. “The Governor is trying to topple the government. An attempt is being made to destroy the higher education sector.”, he said. Kanam also asked why 11 vice chancellors are asked to resign based on the judgment of a case.
Following the government-governor conflict and the VC appointment issue in court and the working of the technical university became affected. KTU students who have completed their course and were waiting for further studies and jobs are in crisis.
Dr Rajshree was removed from the post of VC by the Supreme Court last month. Dr Ciza Thomas was appointed as governor by rejecting the names proposed by the government. But all the officials including Pro VC and registrar are not cooperative.
