Vizhinjam port; Govt’s stubbornness to implement this project can’t be justified, criticizes Syro Malabar Church

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Syro Malabar church has come out against the government in the Vizhinjam anti-port protests. The Syro Malabar Sabha Almaya forum opined that the government's insistence on implementing the project cannot be justified. They also requested that the government should not abandon the coastal residents of Vizhinjam.

“Fishermen are regularly being displaced for development projects. The government is intolerant toward the struggle of the fisherfolk. Registering case against the archbishop and the auxiliary bishop is condemnable.”, said the Syro Malabar Church. They also demanded that the government should take immediate action for the rehabilitation of coastal residents.
