Mock drill to ensure Covid treatment facilities, health ministers to supervise

NEW DELHI: A mock drill will be organized on Tuesday to ensure treatment facilities in the country's Covid hospitals. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandavya had directed the health ministers of the respective states to supervise the mock drill. The mock drill is organized to ensure facilities like the oxygen plant, ventilator facility, observation wards and number of staff.

The minister held a discussion with the IMA members yesterday. Mandavya advised the doctors to take initiative in stopping fake propaganda about Covid. In the meeting held with the IMA members, the minister said the co-operation of the Covid front fighters should continue. In a press release issued after the meeting, the IMA called for strict adherence to Covid-19 norms, including masks and social distancing.

Seven people who came from abroad have been confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 so far. The samples have been sent for genetic sequencing. The people who arrived at the airports of Gaya and Kolkata in Bihar were confirmed of Covid-19. People who came from Britain, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and Dubai are sick. They are in quarantine.
