Youth creates profile posing as pilot in matrimonial sites, cheats women of lakhs

VARANDARAPPILLY: A 36-year-old youth was arrested for making proposals after creating fake profiles in matrimonial sites. He has been identified as Muhammed Fazal of Morayur in Malappuram. He was taken into custody by a team led by circle inspector S Jayakrishnan and sub inspector C C Basanth.

He created a fake passport and aadhar in the name of Amal. He registered in matrimonial sites posing as a pilot. He will then cheat women of lakhs whom he meets via marriage proposals. He was arrested following a complaint filed by a woman from Varandarappilly for cheating her of Rs 1,10,000. Police said that he had cheated many in different parts of the state. He had swindled Rs 7 lakh from a woman at Paravoor in Ernakulam. Similar cheating was reported in Kollam, Ernakulam, Malappuram and Wayanad.

The accused arrested by Kollam cyber police from Palarivattom was taken into custody by Varandarappilly police. Varandarappilly police SHO informed that evidence will be collected in coming days.
