Food poisoning in state again; 17 develop uneasiness after eating kuzhimanthi, woman in serious condition

KOCHI: In another case of suspected food poisoning, 17 people including two children have been hospitalized at Paravoor taluk hospital after eating kuzhimanthi from a hotel in Paravoor. Reports said more have developed uneasiness.

The condition of a woman is stated to be serious. She has been shifted to Ernakulam Medical College from the taluk hospital. People who ate kuzhimanthi and alfaham from Majlis Hotel in Paravoor developed uneasiness after suspected food poisoning.

They started vomiting and had diarrhea. People who ate only kuzhimanthi rice have no problem. Soon after the incident, the officials of municipality health department reached the spot and closed the hotel. In a checking by the health department at another hotel of the same people, seized old tea powder for adding colour.

500 kilos of rotten meat were seized from Kochi two days back.
