Bank strike postponed, banks will be open on Monday and Tuesday; decision taken in discussion with Chief Labour Commissioner

MUMBAI: The bank employees' strike, which was planned for January 30 and 31, has been postponed. The decision was taken in a discussion held by the employees' unions with the Chief Labour Commissioner. It was also agreed to hold another discussion again on January 31.

The bank employees announced the strike raising the demands such as five days banking, updation of pension, scrapping of the National Pension System (NPS), immediate starting of negotiation on charter of demands for wage revision, and adequate recruitment in all cadres.
