Rahul larger than national flag; High criticism on last day of Jodo Yatra

SRINAGAR: Congress has shown signs of revitalization with the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharath Jodo yatra. Snubbed initially as petty political demagoguery, the yatra through all these months has erupted the political powers in Delhi. So, it was imperative for the congress to end the yatra on a high note on 29th January. But, things went awry for congress and its legions as it was a hailstorm of criticism on social media. Rahul Gandhi raised the Indian tricolor in the historical Lal chowk in Srinagar today. The images and video were quick to make it into the trending list.

But what got the netizens' eyes where a larger-than-life flex of Rahul Gandhi belittling the Indian flag. Twitter users commented that the Gandhi scion is more important for congress than the nation itself. The final day of the Bharath Jodo yatra already got the required spotlight, only for the absence of many big opposition parties. While it is considered that the yatra was an elixir to the fading congress influence, the last day fiasco is sure to give headaches for many within India’s oldest party.
