Do not invite short circuit

KANNUR: The number of incidents where moving vehicles catch fire is increasing. 30 cars caught fire in Kerala last year. An electrical short circuit is the leading cause of vehicles catching fire.

The difference between the base model and the fully optioned vehicle is huge. According to the Department of Motor Vehicles, doing extra fitting on the base model at a low cost at non-approved workshops can invite danger. Ignorance of the importance of wiring in a car is a major issue.

Before doing additional fittings

• A fire may start if you replace the bulb with one that is overly bright or has a high wattage.
• Each firm specifies the wattages of its bulbs, and wiring is done appropriately.
• Using a high-wattage bulb could heat up the wires, melt them, and start a fire.
• If the insulation between the wires of the extra fitting fails, a short circuit may result.
• Automakers use the circuit kit with a coupler to link
• Cutting automobile circuits and connecting wires to instal a radio system is also dangerous.
