2000 crore to curb inflation, Kerala is on the path of growth; FM’s budget presentation begins

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance Minister K N Balagopal started the presentation of the second full budget of the second Pinarayi government in the assembly. In the budget presentation which started at 9 in the morning, the finance minister announced that active intervention will be taken to curb inflation in the state and 2000 crores will be allocated for this purpose. The finance minister, who pointed out that Kerala is being continuously rejected in central schemes, criticized the centre for the imposition of cuts in the borrowing limit of the state. Due to this there will be a deficit of 4000 crores.


100 crores have been allocated for welfare and development projects. 600 crores have been granted as rubber subsidy and 3400 crores for KSRTC. The finance minister also announced that the tax and non-tax revenues of the state will increase.
