Sanju Samson’s explosive 87 powers CSK to victory

NEW DELHI: Chennai Super Kings registered a convincing win over Delhi Capitals in the IPL, powered by a stellar batting performance from Sanju Samson. Chasing a target of 156 runs, Chennai reached the total in 17.3 overs, losing just two wickets. With this win, Chennai now has 10 points from 10 matches and has kept its playoff hopes alive.

Sanju Samson remained unbeaten on 87 off 52 balls, hitting six sixes and seven boundaries. Youngster Karthik Sharma also played a steady knock, scoring an unbeaten 41 runs. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Urvil Patel were the only wickets to fall. For Delhi, Axar Patel and Lungi Ngidi took one wicket each.

Earlier, Delhi Capitals scored 155 for 7 in 20 overs. Their batting struggled against disciplined bowling from Chennai. Sameer Rizvi was the top scorer with an unbeaten 40, while Tristan Stubbs added 38 runs. A key partnership between Rizvi and Stubbs helped Delhi reach a respectable total after early setbacks. For Chennai, Noor Ahmad impressed with two wickets, while Jamie Overton and others chipped in with one wicket each.
