Theft in operation theatre with 24-hour security; Police unable to arrest suspect despite availablity of CCTV footage

ALAPPUZHA: When the police are busy with security duty, theft continues in and around Alappuzha beach. It is indicated that the AC units of the ESI Hospital in Alappuzha Beach, which has 24-hour security personnel, were targeted for copper wires. The theft took place on Sunday night.

The hospital's AC units were stolen and surgeries were halted. AC units in the operation theater complex were stolen. The superintendent of the hospital lodged a complaint with the Alappuzha South Police after the protest that took place due to the suspension of surgery. CCTV footage was collected during the investigation, and clues about the accused were obtained. The initial conclusion of the police is that the thief targeted the copper wire.

Even after four months of stealing gold and money from an unoccupied house, the accused has not been found. The theft took place at Anantharajan's clubhouse on Alappuzha Beach Road. CCTV footage was obtained of three masked men entering the house and returning after a long time. The thieves entered the house by breaking the front door and broke open three cupboards and lockers and stole money and gold.

It has been alleged that there is not much patrolling in the limits of North and South police stations. The gold and cash were stolen when the police were busy with the Chief Minister's Nava Kerala Sadas. The theft at the ESI Hospital is now at a busy time related to election activities.

A case was registered following the complaint of the hospital superintendent. The CCTV footage is being checked. The accused will be caught soon.
