587.35K bookings in last 24 hours; Drishyam effect in Mollywood

Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph’s ‘Drishyam’ made a new record as the first Mollywood movie to register the highest sales through BookMyShow within the first 24 hours since release. According to the numbers, 587.35K people have booked tickets in the last 24 hours alone.

The previous record in Mollywood was held by Mohanlal starrer 'Thudarum', selling 419K tickets on the first day. As per reports, the movie's sales in India on the first day reached Rs 15.85 crore, while the overall collection is at Rs 43.37 crore. It is expected that the movie will easily walk into the 100 crore club this week.

The third movie from the Drishyam franchise has left the audience contented with positive reports coming from all theatres. The movie was released on May 21st, coinciding with superstar Mohanlal’s birthday.
