THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Madhav Suresh lashed out at the cyber-attacks targeting him on social media. It is alleged that a hate campaign is ongoing against the film 'Angam Attahasam' in which Madhav played the protagonist. Madhav, while talking to the press, expressed doubt whether it is his father’s politics that has led to such hatred against him on social media. Madhav was speaking at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram.
“Not just my film, many filmmakers are going through the same. I don’t know whether they are being paid to hurl such insults and malign movies for no reason. I do not think that is right. Negative criticism is totally fine, but insulting and deriding a movie is unacceptable.
I am not a great actor. I am just making my baby steps into this field, and there may be mistakes. However, it is not just me who is getting affected by the hate campaign. The makers and producers who spent money expecting a good result are shattered over such a malign campaign on social media. You might hate me, but don’t make it a reason to hurt others' feelings, too.
Just go through the comments appearing on my Instagram post. They are even going to the extent of insulting my mother and sisters. I don't know if it is the hate for my father's politics. My state and my country are more important to me. I am an ordinary citizen. I only want my country to improve. They started linking me to my father's party. It even affected my career. I am a person who wants to work and live a decent life. I don't know what to do now,” said Madhav Suresh.
