Anil Kumar to be CM Satheesan's private secretary; Umesh NSK Officer on Special Duty
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Deputy Director of the Food Safety Department, K Anil Kumar, was appointed private secretary to Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan. K. Anil Kumar was the private secretary when V.D. Satheesan was the opposition leader. He has also served as the Guruvayur Devaswom Administrator. Before joining the government service, he was a teacher at the Law College and Law Academy. Anil Kumar started his professional career in the Health Department Directorate. His role was pivotal in the formation of the Food Safety Department. He retired as the Deputy Director of Food Safety. Anil was a batchmate of V.D. Satheesan at Law College and Law Academy. Both of them were KSU leaders at the Law College and the Law Academy during this period. He is a native of Mannanthala, Thiruvananthapuram.
Umesh NSK, Director of General Education, has been appointed as the Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister and Officer on Duty. A native of Salem, Tamil Nadu, Umesh NSK is a 2015 batch Kerala cadre IAS officer and his tenure as the Ernakulam Collector was impressive. Umesh’s tenure as the Wayanad Sub-Collector came at a crucial phase when floods hit the region in 2018. Umesh was one of the officials who spearheaded the relief operations. He led from the front to rescue people trapped in the rains and coordinate rehabilitation activities.
A. Hemachandran will be appointed as the honorary advisor to Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala. A. Hemachandran is a former DGP and Fire Force chief. A 1986 batch IPS officer, he has also served as the director of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. He was the head of the special team that investigated the solar scam case that caused a stir in Kerala. After retirement, his autobiography 'Where is Justice?', which included his experiences in his official life, led to big discussions in Kerala’s political milieu.
