'Internal matters should not be turned into digital content for people to laugh about'; Ramesh Pisharody about dispute within AMMA
PALAKKAD: Actor and Palakkad MLA Ramesh Pisharody has responded to the controversy within the actors' association AMMA. Speaking at a press conference, Pisharody said he had spoken to complainant Ansiba Hassan, accused actor Tini Tom, and AMMA president Shwetha Menon regarding the issue. He said he had requested them to resolve the problems as quickly as possible without allowing the matter to become something for the people to laugh about.
"I've asked the organisation to hold an internal meeting, either with the support of senior members or otherwise, and implement the most appropriate and fair decision. AMMA is a small organisation with only around 500 members. However, because it is connected to the film industry, it receives huge media attention. The concerned people must remember that the situation should not affect the livelihood and pension support of elderly artists associated with the organisation," Ramesh Pisharody said.
Pisharody further said that when he won in a previous AMMA election, he gave up his seat because he wanted a woman office-bearer to take the position, and that was the seat later given to Ansiba Hassan.
“The organisation’s internal matters should not have reached a stage where the public discusses them so widely. I have asked them to discuss and solve the issues within the organisation as soon as possible. It should not turn into digital content or become something people joke about,” Pisharody said.
