K R Jyothilal also under consideration for State Chief Secretary post

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Additional Chief Secretary for Finance K.R. Jyothilal is also being considered for the post of State Chief Secretary. If Sanjeev Kaushik is not available for the post, K.R. Jyothilal will be the first choice. Current Chief Secretary Dr A. Jayathilak will retire on June 30.

It is reported that Jayathilak may go on leave by mid-June. Sanjeev Kaushik, who was on central deputation, reported back to Kerala last week. It is learnt that Kaushik gave an indication that he will not be taking up the post of Chief Secretary. Manoj Joshi and Rachana Shah, who are on central deputation, have seniority, but it is reported that they are not coming back.

Additional Chief Secretary Bishwanath Sinha, a 1992 batch IAS officer, has seniority but is known to be close to the Left government, which diminishes his chance for the post under the current UDF government.
