CHENNAI: Renowned musician A R Rahman has taken legal action against YouTube channels that shared a defamatory video against him. A R Rahman has sent a legal notice to YouTube channels that shared a defamatory video about the reasons behind his divorce. The legal notice demands that the video be removed within 24 hours. The notice also states that legal action will be taken if the videos are not removed.

The music world was shocked to hear the news of the divorce of A R Rahman and his wife Zaira Banu. The two are separating after 29 years of marriage. A R Rahman and Zaira Banu had earlier issued a statement regarding the divorce. Both had requested that their privacy be respected and not to enter into further discussions on the matter.

However, after the divorce news, fake news and defamatory information were spread on social media. Zaira Banu's lawyer Vandana Shah said that the couple took the decision after much thought. A R Rahman and Zaira got married in 1995. The couple has three children, Khadija, Rahima and Amin.
