'Actress endured horrific assault that night, but I apologise to Dileep' 

Director Alleppey Ashraf responds after actor Dileep's acquittal in the actress assault case. Ashraf admitted that he suspected Dileep since he knew about the incident.
"Some mimicry artists who had a close relationship with Dileep hinted to me about certain things that took place in Dubai for a stage show. Manju Warrier was not in the show. However, he told me that somebody secretly called her in. I don't want to talk about what happened next. My doubts strengthened when Manju Warrier revealed the criminal conspiracy behind the actress's assault case. A police officer, like Biju Paulose, with a clean track record, admitted that the quotation was given by actor Dileep.
The court said there was prima facie evidence and even denied bail when approached the high court. That is how Dileep had to be remanded for 85 days.
Many IPS officers and advocates still believe that Dileep is involved in this case. As a person who is aware of the past deeds of Dileep, I'm not ready to buy those narratives from PR workers seen on television channels.
I don’t have any personal grudge against Dileep till now, and I even admire him for his talent.
It is the plain truth that the actress had to endure a horrific assault that night. It is the failure of the prosecution and government that the criminal conspiracy couldn’t be proved. The verdict now approves the defence of Dileep that the arguments of the prosecution and the police are fabricated.
Since I believe in our judicial system, I accept and respect the verdict. As the verdict turned this way, now who will be responsible for the imprisonment, shame and his ruined career?
The administration is the culprit. You have manipulated a huge society. There is an upper court; if the decision is to move further for appeal with the evidence produced now, the plight should be more pathetic. I often sharply criticised Dileep in channel discussions. Once in a channel discussion, the anchor asked me what I would do if Dileep were acquitted. I said I would unconditionally apologise. So here I am apologising unconditionally to Dileep for the hurtful words from my side. These are the words from my heart,’- he said.
