Jason Sanjay removes Vijay’s name from his surname, chooses mother Sangeetha’s initial

CHENNAI: Recent reports claim that Jason Sanjay, the son of actor Vijay, has removed his father’s name from his surname. Until now, he was known as Jason Sanjay V, but several media reports say his name will now appear as Jason Sanjay S. The letter “V”, which represented his father Vijay, has reportedly been replaced with “S”, the initial of his mother Sangeetha Sornalingam.

Jason’s move comes at a time when Vijay and Sangeetha are reportedly on the verge of divorce. According to reports, Sangeetha has claimed in a petition filed in court that Vijay’s alleged relationship with an actress is the reason for the end of their 27-year marriage.

Jason Sanjay and Divya Saasha are the children of Vijay and Sangeetha. Both of them completed their higher education in London, where their mother Sangeetha grew up. Jason is currently busy directing a film titled 'Sigma', starring actor Sundeep Kishan in the lead role. Divya is a badminton player.

Jason had earlier appeared in a song sequence in the Vijay-starrer Vettaikaaran, while Divya appeared in the film Theri. Earlier reports had also claimed that Jason had unfollowed Vijay on Instagram.
